Satellite: Aegraja Publishing House

Aegraja is a small publishing house—launched around the same time as NGO Degrowth Estonia—dedicated to providing knowledge in Estonian about our current situation regarding nature and ecology, and to envisioning possible future scenarios. While many major global thinkers have already addressed these topics, their works have not previously been translated into Estonian; Aegraja aims to bridge this gap. "This is not merely a publishing house; it is a form of civic activism," says publisher Martin Altraja.

Titles published by Aegraja include works significant to the degrowth movement, such as Jason Hickel’s Less Is More, E. F. Schumacher’s Small Is Beautiful, Kim Stanley Robinson’s sci-fi novel The Ministry for the Future, and Donella Meadows’ Thinking in Systems, as well as Fundamentals of Strategic Thinking by Kaspar Kruup and Margus Niitsoo. The books are available for purchase via the publisher’s website or at well-stocked bookstores.
